Hypocrites!!

Yesterday the Onondaga Nation a leading member of the once mighty Iroquios Confederacy filed a massive Land Claim against the State of New York and it's local governmental bodies. They did so saying that they did not wish to evict anyone nor seek monetary rewards, but primarily to force the State etc to bargain with them and cleanup the environmental damage inflicted by the "evil white man" - my words - on their ancestral homeland.

Yeah Right!...it is about power, control and indeed money... based on a technicality in treaties signed long ago by their ancestors.

I say they are hypocrites because while on one face they proclaim themselves the pious, protectors of the environment on the other hand they make money hand over fist as on a daily basis as cars and trucks stream off Route 81 and down Route 11 to their Smoke Shop. There these same pious protectors of the environment sell to those whose ancestors robbed them of their land various tobacco products which not only pollutes the very same environment (cigarette butts, smoke etc) they claim to cherish, but also causes immense burdens on our health system. For Gods sake these people are selling a known drug and carcinogen with impunity and though legal who knows how much death and suffering they have caused as a result.

Righteous indeed, pious protectors of the environment, please the Onondagas an Indian Nation seek only to line their pockets, the pockets of hypocrites.
